Creative Spurts

I have been in a creative mood since my last posting. I have created about 200 peices of work. some digital, some paintings, some grafitti, some refashioning, some poetry and some typographic. But most of all illustrations and art journaling.

Unfortunately I wont be able to post eveything because my daughters friend erased them off of my camera when she was sneaking pictures of my daughter, who hates to be photographed.

C'est la vie
Thats how the cookie crumbles.
Durring this post I will show you a step by step photo story of how I arrived at one work in the posts to follow I will just do a flip of about five different journals various sizes along with a few paintings.

This is a piece from one of my many mixed media art journals. I call this Nitestar.

I started with a blank page then randomly layed down some color. I believe it was pure  burnt sienna and bronze. I randomly scraped the color on using an old business card and sqirted the color directly from the tube and it splattered the page  then I took a blank sheet of paper and pressed the excess off.
.Here I found a template I created with my neices cricut machine. I placed it on the sheet and filled it in with color then otlined it in contrasting colors. for a highlighted city silhoette
Here I added a bottom border with like minded colors
Here I rummaged through my magazine cut outs and found a face with matching make up so I cut it out as close to the image as possible

Here I Painted in a tree to try to bring interest more forward and push the city silhoette back.
Then I traced around the faces outline with my favorite metalic crayons
After I pasted the face down I felt that the composition lacked something.
So I created an owl to add to the ground or the tree
but it didn't fit the story
The cute owl didn't seem to fit here and the head needed hair . I chose to paint it in green.

Here I added a widows peak to her emerald green hari and played around with a moon.
although the owl was cute he didn't seem to fit here either.
The moon was to perfectly matched and I felt it disappeared into the background. If I would have found a lighter image then maybe it would have worked.
I made the widows peak a crown and feel that the image is strong enough to stand on its own right now.

this is skate girl
this is skateboy
Here is a large mural like painting of the two combined

Mr. Owlie
